Sierra Point and other news...

Saturday night was the Sierra Point cross race. It was the first, night cross race I've seen and it was a blast.

That's about the best shot I got all night. My pink PowerShot wasn't quite equipped for night shooting...

The course was mostly flat except for a 10 ft mound that the course crisscrossed a few times.

My buddy, Jeff, won my vote for 'Best Costume'...

He was in the single speed category so he dressed up like a hipster.

Afterward, I did a post race interview with the Cat 3 phenom himself...

In other news...

Jelly Belly is going to be on Focus next year!

So colorful! I'm also psyched to finally see them on bikes people actually want to ride...sorry GT, I haven't wanted to ride one of your bikes since I was 13 and riding BMX.

Looks like Tony Cruz is headed to Rock next season. Speaking of older guys turned Rock, anyone know what's up with Fred Rodriguez this year?

Lately there's been a lot of talk about race radios. The UCI has voted to phase out race radios. I thought after they canceled the second day of radio silence in le Tour that a radio ban was a long shot. However, it looks like the suits have taken it seriously. It's no wonder Bob Stapleton's up in arms about it though as it will certainly put a kink in their leadout plans. Well, that and the fact they've lost half their leadout... Then again, maybe without radios Hincapie would have been in yellow last year?

Velocity Nation has done a survey with some PROs to see what they think. It's also my favorite cycling site. Be sure to check out their interviews and comics.

Also, anyone remember the doping allegations against Contador after Stage 15 this year? Apparently Dr. Roberto Corsetti, the man whose 'report' claimed Contador had put out inhuman power, calculated the slope incorrectly. It was nice of him to go ahead and come out with the accusation before double checking his 'math'...
