Cav to Win Gold?

--Cavendish won this weekend's Olympic test event ahead of Farrar and others. Looks like the Olympic road race course is well suited to him. It was cool to see the guys racing in their countries' kits, although Hausler looks a bit odd in the Aussie kit. After all, his name is Heinrich Haussler...

-The USA Pro Cycling Challenge has announced the teams for this year. It should be a ton of fun to watch.

--Landis claims that one of the coaches at Discovery, while Contador was there, was a drug trafficker. Contador's agent said this was false and that the Spaniard is coached sole by Riis and the others at Saxo Bank. (Oddly enough, Riis himself confessed to doping. But that's another story.)

I'm not sure why Landis is just now mentioning this. It could be that he just now remembered it--he's claimed to not remember some of the stuff--, or it was apropos in the interview. Either way, I don't really doubt what he's saying.

--Looks like Iglinsky has been fined by Astana for his intoxicated drive home from the killer Vino party. Bummer, dude.

--Matthew Busche has a funny video up on his blog of him and Steven Cozza out on a ride. Cozza stops to feed the local donkeys.

--Gore has some sick new cables out.

The cables are made of fiber optics and "weigh under 40g for two meters length versus about 80g for standard housing." Nice! I'll see if I can get some pics of them at Interbike next month.
